Hello there,

We hope your week is going well! We’ve got two important updates for you.

First: Vote for Papers ends this Friday.

This is your chance to help shape the Confitura 2025 agenda and make it the strongest yet. Take a few minutes to browse the submissions and vote for the talks you’d love to see on September 19–20.

This year, Confitura will be a two-day conference, featuring an additional NLP Day track and giving every attendee the opportunity to join a workshop.

Cast your vote here - voting closes on August 15.

Second: ticket sales will be opening soon.

As you know, Confitura has always been a non-profit event run by and for the community. We work hard to keep the ticket price accessible, but rising costs mean that this year the price will be 500–550 PLN gross.

You might say that’s ten times more than in 2023 - and you’d be right. But in today’s “This Is Fine IT-pocalypse” market, conference budgeting is more challenging than ever. Let’s face it: without our partners (see below), it would be much worse. Thanks to Krzysiek, we can honestly say it’s money well spent, bringing real value to attendees. This price covers part of the costs: venue, refreshments, recordings, and other essentials that keep Confitura running. Plus, thanks to our cooperation with Sages, we’re able to offer -10% off any Java course from their offer.

If you’re actively involved in building the IT community, whether by running a meetup, contributing to open source, or organizing events, you may qualify for a community discount. Just email us.

Those who partner with us

Our Gold Partner this year is Revolut. Revolut helps you spend, send, and save smarter - it’s your new favourite way to do all things money. Their mission is to remove the friction that stands in the way of your money goals becoming your reality. Whether it’s a quick payment, splitting a bill, or setting up savings, Revolut makes it as seamless as possible. If you’d like to join the Revolut team, you can find all current openings here.

We’re enormously grateful to XTB for supporting us as a Silver Partner. Their mission is to provide solutions that make clients’ money work for them in many different ways - all accessible through digital tools, supported by their team in Poland (pssst… they’re hiring).

The organization of Confitura is actively supported by Sages, our Path Partner and the organizer of NLP Day (yes, more content!). They also give our attendees -10% off any Java course from their offer - not bad, right?

#MeetTheTeam

Dominik – Full Stack Dev @ Confitura

A long-time presence in WJUG, Javarsovia, and Warsjawa. A devoted backend developer who’s always been a Java coder… until early 2025, when he discovered Scala and FP. In our hyper-agile team, Dominik does it all: frontend, backend, web, mobile, orchestration, and sometimes even sysadmin work… but no, he cannot fix your printer. Please stop asking.

Ida – Marketing Something-Something @ Confitura

Finds gold in community work. Handles marketing, community coordination, events, and copywriting - and feels at home mingling with dev communities while happily playing “the dummy in the room.” No hands-on coding, but can throw JVM buzzwords around with suspicious fluency. Also wrote this very newsletter.

This newsletter is an irregular broadcast from the Confitura 2025 organizing team. Please consider not printing it and handing it to your pet - dogs are notoriously prone to chewing things, and you risk ending up with the classic “dog ate my newsletter” excuse. If you absolutely must print it, please use double-sided, black-and-white settings. Then, as an act of creative sustainability, fold it into an origami Labubu. We promise it will spark at least one confused conversation.

We can’t wait to see you in September!
